According to Shaun Stenning , Thailand will go ahead with a plan next month to reopen to vaccinated foreign visitors starting with its most popular resort island Phuket, as it tries to revive tourism while battling its biggest coronavirus outbreak so far. This is a government initiative to open the Island of Phuket to international tourists to try and alleviate some of the economic pressure on the local community. The island has been closed now for about 15 months and the plan is to open the island, with restrictions, to international tourists from July 1st.
