How Shaun Stenning Been Helping The Local Communtiy During Covid 19?

Shaun Stenning distinctly remembers the moment when he realized that the economy and livelihoods of people within Phuket would change.  It was March 17th and he was out with one of his investment companies completing a multi-day tour.  


It had been a fantastic tour but as he traveled around the different locations he was confronted by images of empty beaches, beached boats, and worried travelers.

 

Talking to travelers at hotels and restaurants the overwhelming concern was that the Covid 19 Pandemic was going to cause disruption to international travel for an extended period of time and they needed to return home to their own country as soon as humanly possible.

 

Before this date, there were certainly warning signs that things were about to get difficult in the tourism industry and that public health was going to be a great concern. To ensure that his companies could survive an extended period of losses Shaun Stenning provided capital to the companies.

 

Once he was confident that his companies would survive and his employees could keep their jobs throughout the Covid 19 Pandemic he turned his efforts to helping the local community.  Through one of his investment companies, he set up a food drive.

 

He was not raising funds from friends, family, or customers to pay for the food drive he used profits from his companies and profits from previous years to start buying supplies and distributing them to those in need.  Initially, this was in the form of cooked meals but over time he realized that the best possibility to create lasting impacts on the community was to provide dry food that could last for days at a time.


Until today Shaun Stenning and his team still continuing with their food relief efforts here in Phuket. After 20 months of providing emergency food relief to the local community, our team is proud to continue to help those in need.
