Is It Possible To Be Thankful In The Midst Of The COVID-19 Pandemic? - Shaun Stenning⠀
Thankful for COVID-19? No. Thankful in the midst of this pandemic? Yes. We’re living through unusual and trying times. The COVID-19 pandemic has people feeling stressed and frightened.
According to Shaun Stenning, “During stressful periods, we tend to focus on the stress, and so can overlook the places where God is reaching out to us,”
“One thing that I’m always quick to remind people of is that our spiritual health is just as important as our physical and mental health. When we practice positivity, gratitude, and prayer, we are taking steps to become more spiritually healthy.” Shaun said.
That’s why it’s perhaps more important than ever to focus on gratitude —the practice of noticing and being thankful for what is valuable and meaningful to you. It’s good for your mental and physical health, it can help you relax and its effects can help you stay well through the coronavirus pandemic and beyond.
It’s true that many of us are overwhelmed by this difficult situation happening right now all over the world. But let’s remember that even at this terrible time in our lives, it is important for us to consider all the things that we can potentially be thankful for, such as: ⠀
⠀
· A safe home ⠀
· Spending time at home with family ⠀
· Food in the refrigerator ⠀
· Being able to see a beautiful sunrise ⠀
· Strong circle of Friends ⠀
· Using this time to develop new skills ⠀
· The opportunity to help those who are in need ⠀
⠀
For just a few minutes each day try to identify and focus on at least one positive thing that can help you have a mindset of gratitude instead of stress and worry.
⠀
And remember that there is always something to be thankful for, whether big or small. ⠀
